An office at Home

Alternatives to a garden office

Don't have room for a separate office either in the garden or at home? Consider the alternatives ....

The Kitchen Office

Rethink your kitchen to create the perfect working space.

Kitchen offices are ideal if you like to be at the centre of things, or if you simply do not have the space to give up an entire room. They make it easy to multitask, as you can carry on working while the dim=nner is in the oven, and with Internet access in the litchen you can do virtually anything!

working from home in kitchen office

Awkward spaces can work to your advantage in a kitchen office - a small unused space at the end of a run of units is ideal for desk space.

When you are creating a kitchen office keep computers and orinters at least 50cm's away from the sink for safety purposes. It is also best to store the hard drive in a cupboard so there is no danger of it getting wet when the floor is cleaned.

If you are thinking of making your own built-in desk for your kitchen office go for a height of 70 - 75cm's. If possible use the same materials as the kitchen worktop to blend the desk into the scheme. Glass will aslo look good in most kitchens
